Sales Manager

At Hoyer VMS Group, we are looking for a dynamic Sales Manager who thrives on proactive sales and is motivated by a customer-facing role.

About the Role
You will become part of our ambitious sales team based at our headquarters in Frederikshavn, Denmark, with the option for a flexible work location after the onboarding period.
Your primary responsibility will be to identify and develop new customers globally while strengthening existing relationships. A large part of your work will take place on-site with customers, collaborating closely with them on technical challenges and solutions.
You should expect approximately 60–80 travel days per year, which you will largely plan yourself in coordination with customers and colleagues.
At Hoyer VMS Group, we specialize in service, repair, and maintenance of critical components such as diesel engines, turbochargers, gearboxes, propellers, and thrusters. We combine technical expertise with flexibility to deliver solutions that create value for our customers—both short and long term.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own customer portfolio, including development of existing accounts and acquisition of new clients
- Drive proactive sales activities to identify and create new business opportunities
- Lead sales processes from initial contact to contract signing
- Prepare quotations and participate in contract negotiations
- Identify customer needs and translate them into value-creating solutions through consultative sales
- Develop customer potential across our service areas and competencies
- Conduct market and customer analyses to identify new opportunities
- Participate in international trade shows and marketing activities
- Collaborate closely with marketing and service teams to ensure a strong and consistent customer experience
Your Profile
You are a proactive, responsible, and relationship-oriented sales professional with experience in technical sales within an international environment. You thrive in close customer dialogue and are skilled at identifying needs and creating value through trust-based relationships and technical discussions.
Your qualifications include:
- A solid technical background within maritime or mechanical disciplines, e.g. experience with engines, gear systems, or propulsion systems
- A strong understanding of how technical solutions create customer value, and the ability to apply this insight in sales dialogues
- A natural flair for proactive sales, with the ability to independently drive sales processes from initial lead to contract signing
- Experience with consultative, value-based selling
- The ability and willingness to travel frequently (60–80 days annually) and work effectively across different cultures
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across the organization
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
