At Hoyer VMS Group, one of our core strengths is service and maintenance of marine engines, propellers, gear systems, and thrusters. We are currently looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join our Gear and Thruster team based at our workshop in Frederikshavn, Denmark.

In this role, you will play a key part in servicing and repairing gear systems and related equipment. The position requires both solid technical expertise and a strong interest in mechanical solutions used onboard vessels.

What we’re looking for

You might be the right candidate if you:

• Have experience with gear systems and/or thrusters – experience with hydraulic systems is an advantage
• Are comfortable taking ownership and making independent decisions
• Stay focused and proactive, even when facing challenging tasks
• Can prepare clear service reports after completed work
• Are flexible and used to varied and sometimes long working days
• Are willing to travel (approximately 100 travel days per year)
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Are motivated to learn and take on new challenges

Your formal education is less important to us than your practical experience, mindset, and ability to work independently. Maritime experience or a similar background is highly valued.

A good command of English is essential, as much of the work takes place in an international environment where you will collaborate with colleagues and clients from around the world. Basic IT skills at user level are also expected.
