Numbers, Teamwork, and Tempo – Become a Finance Assistant at VMS Group!

At VMS Group A/S, we specialize in maintenance and repair of marine engines – and things move fast, both at sea and in our growth curves. That’s why we’re now looking for a dedicated, independent, and team-oriented colleague to join our Finance Department.

What does the job involve?

You’ll play a key role in a dynamic service company with maritime roots and a strong international presence. You’ll be responsible for daily bookkeeping, handling purchase invoices, and ensuring follow-up across departments – including close collaboration with colleagues in the warehouse, sales, and project management. In other words: your social skills will be just as valuable as your “calculator.”

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Bookkeeping and processing of purchase invoices
  • Following up on outstanding purchase orders and ensuring correct invoicing
  • VAT reconciliation and reporting to the tax authorities
  • EU sales reporting (VAT-exempt transactions)
  • Preparation and submission of Intrastat and other statistics to Statistics Denmark
  • Posting of daily financial transactions and project-related entries
  • Control and reconciliation of inventory postings
  • Recording, posting, and reconciliation of fixed assets
  • Ad hoc tasks and support for colleagues

Who are you?

We imagine you have:

  • Strong financial skills and a relevant higher education background
  • Experience with Dynamics NAV – ideally including Document Capture and Jobmanager (and maybe you’re also a bit of an Excel enthusiast?)
  • A proactive mindset – you say “I’ll take care of it” rather than “someone else should handle that”

And as a person, you are:

  • Detail-oriented, structured, and able to keep an overview in a busy workday
  • Solution-oriented when challenges arise
  • Independent and proactive in your way of working
  • Loyal, positive, and with a good sense of humor
  • A clear, honest, and effective communicator
