Strategic purchaser

For a newly established position, we are seeking a skilled and experienced strategic purchaser – preferably with experience in the maritime industry. Are you familiar with supplier search, contract negotiation, and supplier auditing? Job responsibilities

Reporting to the purchasing manager, you will help ensure a continued strong supplier network, resulting in short delivery times and attractive solutions and prices. It is important that you are passionate about delivering the highest professional service and quality, both to your colleagues and to our customers.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Sourcing new suppliers – particularly suppliers of ship engine spare parts
  • Entering into purchase contracts
  • Auditing suppliers
  • Collecting data for ESG reporting
  • Maintaining data in NAV
  • Various ad hoc tasks

Required professional qualifications

  • Extensive experience in purchasing marine technical equipment and components
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in strategic procurement
  • A commercial background
  • Skilled in negotiating purchase contracts both nationally and internationally
  • High proficiency in English, both written and spoken
  • Experience with ESG reporting
  • Ability to thrive under unpredictable work pressure and short deadlines
  • Strong business acumen, capable of finding optimal solutions for both customers and VMS Group
  • Solid IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
