Sales Manager for the Maritime Industry and Offshore

Are you our new Sales Manager to target the Sub-Saharan Africa and assist and participate in driving sales activities through multiple sales channels on a local and global scale? Would you like to be part of the expansion and development of a company with a huge growth potential?

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious sales manager to join our sales team based in Denmark but focusing on boosting sales in Africa, where we are servicing customers from our workshop in Namibia.

VMS Group covers all aspects of service for medium and high-speed diesel engines, such as repair and maintenance, spare parts delivery, sales of complete propulsion systems as well as engineering projects within the maritime industry and offshore industry.

As Sales Manager you will take part in our customer relationship management, as well as local and global sales, directly or through our affiliates. Your primary workplace will be in Frederikshavn, Denmark, from where you will be focusing on exploiting new customer potential as well as caring for and developing existing customer relations in the Sub-Saharan region. You will be working closely with our Operations Manager in Walvis Bay, Namibia, and you must expect 30-60 travel days per year, mainly to countries located on the west coast of Africa, including Namibia, but also to other customers worldwide.

Key responsibility areas

  • Evolve Customer Relationship Management towards greater partnerships with our customers.
  • Customer visits, including presentations and negotiations.
  • Search for new customers and establish strong customer relationships.
  • Preparation of quotes.
  • Direct sales activities, assisting and supporting sales through our affiliates.
  • Market research and reporting for new business opportunities.
  • Target sales and marketing activities towards greater sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Participation in exhibitions and fairs.
  • Training and education of colleagues and customers.

Your profile
You have an engineering/business related degree, e.g. marine engineer or service engineer/superintendent.

You have experience with meeting customers on various organizational levels. You have strong technical English skills, both orally and in writing. A proven track record with successful involvement in sales activities within the marine segment is an advantage.
